~*~Mooncake Sampling Days on 26th & 27th August 2004~*~

On Thursday and Friday which is 26th & 27th August, the MSC Sourcing Team organised a sampling booth for the TEP students, non- TEP students and staff to sample the mooncakes that were to be sold in NYP. We had to organised many things such as cutting of mooncakes, carrying tables and chairs to the location where the event will be held, gathering catalogues, brewing tea for customers to drink while sampling the mooncakes and many more... The MSC Sourcing team had to ask customers to try the mooncakes in order to encourage to order from NYP. This event is applicable for personal selling and students like mi, are highly encouraged to order. I helped out to carry the tables & chairs and other stuffs tat we needed and even helped out to decorate the booths....It was a bery tiring day...We were very busy until we missed our lunch break and had to eat after the whole event end at 2.30pm... while packing up the things and bringing to our room, the air-power flask which we borrowed from Miss Mona Ang, dropped out from the trolley. And oh my goodness, the flask was damaged liao...so we decided to buy a new one to return to Miss Mona Ang...Finally the two days of sampling mooncakes was over!!!

We were told of many things tat were required by us and also some housekeeping rules... Mr Chan informed us of the product knowledge briefing tat is to be held by us and also the sampling dates of the mooncakes... We were very excited as we were given new tasks to do... I am told to do out a proposal on the budget list needed on the sampling days and also in charge of the organisation of the sampling booth outside the shopping arcade. ~*~Bad Experience (7/8/2004)...~*~

Later tat day, after the Flash workshop, I went to my ah ma hse as usual. I took a train to Somerset and then went to take bus 65 to my ah ma hse. While waiting for the bus, a black man asked mi for directions. He said " May I noe whether bus 65 got go to Little India?" and I said yes. Then after tat, he kept asking mi questions like " Wat is Ur name?", "Are U a student?", "Where am U going" and many more. I felt that it is polite if I answer some of his questions. I told him I am oso going to Little India. Then he told mi tat he is from South Africa and said tat he do not noe anybody in Singapore and asked mi to be his friend. But I didn't answer him. Then the bus 65 came and we boarded the bus. About 15 minutes, we reached Little India and I told him not to follow mi. I was afraid tat he will follow mi to my ah ma hse so I deliberately walked slower...then when he is bery far in front of mi, I u-turned and walked the longer route to my ah ma hse. I told my parents and ah ma about the bad experience and they told mi not to talk to strangers again and don have to believe wat they say.

~*~The 1st Flash workshop on 7/8/2004~*~

Last Saturday, my friends and I from the TEP Infocomm team conducted a Flash workshop for our TEP fellow schoolmates. There are 3 presenters and myrtle and I are the facilitators. Yuling oso join and help out as facilitators as we are shorthanded. On tat day, Mr Karman Yuen, our supervisor was free so he oso help out as facilitators. As a facilitator, we have to be alert and watchful at all times so tat we will be able to help out the students who had encountered problems. We had to help out the students so tat they will not be lost during thw whole workshop. The presenters who are Esther, Ghee Seng and Kian Yong had to give clear and specific instructions so tat the students will be able to follow the lesson. Actually,I felt tat they are quite nervous it was becoz tis type of presentation is bery different from normal presentations as it is more of teaching people. I tried to help out some students and they thanked mi for tat but I felt tat through helping them, I get to learn more. It was indeed a bery refreshing experience for mi.

~*~HAizzzz....6/8/2004~*~

Today... My group leader of the TEP Infocomm team asked the whole team whether we want to go to Bishan Junction 8 to have our lunch so the 4 of us and yuling went, only esther didn't join us. On tat day we will be haveing a sharing session at 4pm so we have to get back in sch by 3 something. It's the 3rd time I tried "MIA" which means "missing in action". We left the sch at 1 something and went to Bishan's food court to have lunch. When we reached there, we looked for places to sit and then went to buy our food. Mi, myrtle and yuling walked around the whole food court, pondering on wat to eat for lunch. Then finally, we chose to eat nasi padang from the malay stall. We were not sure of the price of the malay food but still ordered the food as the food looked delicious...After we had ordered the food and was about to pay up, the person from the stall told mi to pay $5.50 It was bery expensive but I have no choice but to pay up. Then I asked Mrytle how much she paid and she told mi she paid $4.50 I was bery surprised as the items I ordered was almost the same except tat I ordered sotong and she ordered tofu. Then I knew tat the sotong was bery expensive and regretted for ordering sotong. Tat meal was a bery unhappy meal as I was too upset by the price tat I had paid in the 1st place. After eating, we walked around the shopping centre b4 going back to sch by taxi. Then back in sch, around 4pm, we went for the sharing session. My group which is the TEP Infocomm team presented the last. Iwas bery nervous but after a few minutes, it's over. I was bery relieved.

~*~The 3rd Dreamweaver workshop on 3/8/2004~*~

Haizzz... today is the last day of the Dreamweaver workshop conducted by mi and Myrtle. It was specially conducted by the BPOS students who are our fellow TEP schoolmates. On tat day, only 11 BPOS students turned up whereas the remaining 19 of them didn't turned up due to other reasons. I was bery disappointed and angry at the same time becoz the last Dreamweaver workshop was requested by the BPOS students but yet so many didn't turn up at all. The reasons tat they give is becoz they are having their block leave. Tat is wat makes mi bery angry as we were told by our supervisor, Mr Karman Yuen, tat the BPOS students wanted to sign up for the Dreamweaver workshop and yet they didn't turn up. But nevertheless, the workshop was still a success becoz there are fewer students.

~*~The 2nd Dreamweaver workshop on 31/7/2004~*~

Againz...today mi and Myrtle organised another Dreamweaver workshop for our fellow TEP schoolmates. Even though this is the 2nd time, we were oso quite nervous. This time, only 18 students turned up regardless of the tremendous response in which alot of students signed up for the workshop. But nevertheless, we still conducted the workshop. As this time there were fewer students, the lesson gone quite smoothly and was actually better than the 1st workshop. It could be becoz tat there were 28 students at the 1st workshop and oso there quite alot of confusion within the students, as they needed help so the facilitators were bery busy. Finally, at 12pm, the workshop ended. We were all bery tired and hungry so we went to have our lunch.

~*~The 1st Dreamweaver workshop on 28/7/2004~ *~

Today is a special day becoz...mi and Myrtle conducted our 1st Dreamweaver workshop. We are from the TEP Infocomm stopover and we were told by our supervisor, Mr Karman Yuen to conduct Dreamweaver workshops for our fellow TEP schoolmates. We were very nervous as it was very different from normal presentations. This time, we had to act as teachers to teach our fellow TEP schoolmates. On tat day, 28 students turned up and I am quite surprised by the tremendous response. I didn't expect alot of them to turn up but actually I am quite grateful tat almost all of them turned up coz if they don't turn up, we will not be able to conduct the workshop. As I am the 1st presenter for the workshop, I had to give very specific instructions to the students so that they can follow wat I am saying. While I'm presenting, Mr Karman Yuen, my supervisor kept making mi laugh by making gestures to ask mi to speak louder and oso to be slower as the students might not be able to follow. Actually, I made many mistakes but I will try to amend them next time. After the whole workshop, we were all bery tired. I am bery happy as I get to learn alot of things through this workshop and it's a bery fruitful experience for mi.
